The Hong Lok Senior Center
of Family Bridges consists of two drop-in senior centers for seniors ages 55 years and older. Hong Lok centers are located in Oakland Chinatown, at 275 7th Street and also at 261 11th Street, and offer a safe and welcoming environment for seniors to strengthen their social networks, engage in stimulating activities and increase their capacity to live independently. We specialize in working with Asian, limited-English proficient seniors. Staff members are bilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, or English; bilingual volunteers speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and English.

Hong Lok Senior Centers are dedicated to helping seniors continue to lead meaningful lives as they grow older. Our objectives are:

  • To promote socialization and community involvement, and enhance independence
  • To encourage healthy lifestyles and support lifelong learning
  • To facilitate social interaction and participation in activities for socially-isolated seniors
  • To offer a comprehensive program of activities and services that meet the needs and interests of the seniors

This program is funded by the Alameda County Area Agency on Aging and the City of Oakland.
